Rock Hill, S.C.----Wingate University freshman student-athlete Javier Maxwell (Lenoir, N.C.) is this week's South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week, league officials announce from corporate headquarters. Maxwell receives this distinction for the first time in his young career.
 
In his Wingate indoor track and field debut, Maxwell achieved personal-bests in the high jump (second place, 2.03 meters) and the long jump (fourth place, 6.87 meters) at the JDL Mondo College Invitational Saturday, January 17. His high jump mark is the top leap in the SAC this season, while his long jump effort is fifth on the current SAC charts.
