Thursday morning results from the NCAA Division II championship meet

Evansville, Ind.----Wingate University freshman Mathilda Sandberg (100 Butterfly) and the two Bulldog 400 Medley Relay squads will swim for national titles Thursday evening at the NCAA Division II swimming and diving national championships. This year's event is being contested inside the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Indiana.
 
The '26 South Atlantic Conference 100 Butterfly champion, Sandberg swam the second-fastest qualifying time with her mark of 53.75. Nova Southeastern sophomore Kristina Orban was the top qualifier, thanks to her time of 52.77.
 
The Wingate women are the No. 9 seed (3:41.84) in the 400 Medley Relay, while the Bulldog men are also the No. 9 seed (3:11.50). In last year's championships, both the WU women (fifth place) and the WU men (eighth place) earned first team All-American honors in the 400 Medley Relay.
 
Thursday night consolation finals
 
- Senior Mike Topchanalis will swim in the men's 100 Fly consolation finals
- The team captain swam the ninth-fastest time in the morning prelims (47.11)
- Yassine Sebbata and Tymofii Chemeryk made the men's 200 Free consolation finals
- Sebbata swam a 1:35.59 in prelims, missing the finals by 0.02 seconds
- Chemeryk swam a 1:36.81 in the morning session, the 15th best Tuesday AM time
- The two sophomores earned first team AA honors in the 800 Free Relay Tuesday night
