No. 1 Bulldogs move up leaderboard after strong second round at NCAA Championship

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.----The top-ranked Wingate University women's golf team delivered a strong performance in round two of the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship on Wednesday at PGA National.
 
The Bulldogs posted a one-over-par team round, highlighted by 16 birdies across the lineup as Wingate continued to battle against the nation's top programs on the championship stage. The South Atlantic Conference champions finished the day second, one shot behind No. 2 Dallas Baptist.
 
Round two quick hits
 
- Amely Bochaton, the No. 1 ranked player in the nation, fired a five-under-par round with five birdies and no bogeys
- Bochaton continues to lead the field in par-four scoring
- She also leads the championship in total birdies
- Olivia Meinecke (No. 3 national) recorded six birdies during round two
- Meinecke posted a one-over-par round
- She currently leads the field in par-five scoring
- Lauren Sutcliffe carded a two-over-par round with two birdies
- Sutcliffe leads the field in total pars through two rounds
- Haley Paramore added a three-over-par round with two birdies for the Bulldogs
 
Team notes
