No. 3 Wingate shoots a 287 on the first day of the NCAA Division II Regionals

Valdosta, Ga.----The No. 3 Wingate University men's golf team shot a one-under-par 287 on the first day of the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regionals at the Valdosta Country Club Thursday. Senior All-American and NCAA No. 1 player Lewis Beeden led the way with a three-under-par 69.
 
Senior Alfie Storer had a two-under-par 70. Wingate had 17 birdies and one eagle Thursday. Beeden had six birdies, while Storer posted five. Sophomore Cole Rouse had the team's lone eagle on the par-four, 338-yard No. 12. The Bulldogs return to action Friday morning with tee times starting at 10 a.m.
