McCormick, S.C.----The Wingate University women's golf team put together a gritty 36 holes of golf at the 2026 Savannah Lakes Women's Invitational Monday, hosted by Lander University at the Monticello Golf Club. Through two rounds of play, the squad stands at 17-over par, locking down a tie for sixth place alongside South Atlantic Conference rival Lenoir-Rhyne.  
 
Wingate shot a 10-over-par 298 in the first round and a seven-under-par 295 in round two. North Georgia leads the 18-team event at one-over-par through 36 holes.
 
Individual Highlights
 
Sophomore Ines Marty recovered brilliantly in the second round, catching fire with four birdies to sign for a stellar two-under-par 70. Combined with her opening round featuring three birdies (three-over-par 75), Marty sits comfortably in a tie for 12th place.
 
Freshman Gabrielle Duhalde showed consistency across the first day, pairing a one-over-par 73 opening round (two birdies) with a two-over-par 74 second round (two birdies) to sit tied for 20th place.
 
Freshman Juana Milano fought hard through a busy card, tallying four birdies in her opening round on the way to a two-over-par 74. She followed her first round with three birdies in round two (four-over-par 76) to position herself tied for 30th place.
 
Freshman Antonia Emmerson displayed steady improvement from round to round, carding a birdie during round one for a four-over-par 76 before dropping a pair of birdies in the second round to shoot a three-over-par 75. She is currently tied for 37th place.
 
Up next for the Bulldogs
 
Wingate concludes the Savannah Lakes Women's Invitational Tuesday with the third and final round. The Bulldogs are paired with Florida Southern, Lee and SAC foe Lenoir-Rhyne. The shotgun start begins at 9 a.m.
