Senior Liz Willis earned SAC Tournament MVP honors over the weekend, leading the 14th-ranked Bulldogs to their sixth straight SAC Tournament title. Willis becomes the first player in league history to be named SAC Player of the Year, SAC Scholar Athlete and SAC Tournament MVP in the same year.
 
Willis piled up 51 assists and 19 digs in the quarterfinal victory over Carson-Newman. She followed with 35 assists and seven digs in the sweep over Tusculum in the semifinals. Willis notched another double-double in the championship match Sunday, with 52 assists and 12 digs in the victory over Catawba. Willis ranks fourth nationally with 11.79 assists per set. The Bulldogs will host the NCAA Southeast Regionals this weekend, with Wingate taking on the eighth-seeded Lees-McRae Bobcats Friday at 7:30 p.m.
