Reigning SAC Player of the Year Anna Hilton had a big week, leading #14 Wingate to a pair of impressive SAC road wins as the Bulldogs finished the first half of league play undefeated at 11-0. Hilton piled up 4.29 kills, 3.29 digs and 1.57 blocks per set while hitting an impressive .338, adding three assists and an ace.
Hilton hit .500 with 13 kills in Wingate's sweep at Tusculum in a rematch of the SAC Tournament title match and NCAA Southeast Regional championship match. Hilton added three blocks and seven digs against the Pioneers. Hilton just missed a triple-double on Saturday at Mars Hill, piling up 17 kills, 16 digs and eight blocks, adding three assists and an ace in Wingate's four-set win.
A third team All-American last year, Hilton has been even better this year, ranking in the top 12 in the SAC in hitting percentage (2nd), blocks per set (3rd), kills per set (6th) and digs per set (12th).Â
