Redshirt senior defensive end Nick Napolitano (Shallotte, N.C.) was named the SAC Defensive Player of the Week Monday, earning the honor for the second time this season and in his career.
Napolitano had 10 tackles, four QB hurries, 3.5 tackles for loss, one QB sack, one forced fumble and one pass break-up as the Bulldogs defeated Catawba 30-19 in SAC action Saturday. Napolitano leads the NCAA and the SAC in forced fumbles.
His 2014 season statistics ledger includes 41 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 QB sacks, four forced fumbles and seven QB hurries. A two-time All-SAC selection, Napolitano is one of eight Bulldog football student-athletes named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-Super Region 2 team.
