Wingate junior forward Simone Rutledge had a big week as the Bulldogs won two SA contests to improve to 10-6 overall and 5-3 in the league. Rutledge averaged 14.5 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game as Wingate defeated Newberry 76-61 and Brevard 79-59. She shot 52.4 percent from the floor (11-of-21) and 87.5 percent from the charity stripe (seven-of-eight).

On the season, Rutledge is averaging 11.7 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game. Wingate returns to league play Wednesday night, visiting Anderson (S.C.) University for a 6 p.m. contest.
