#24 Bulldogs roll past Limestone in home opener

Wingate, N.C.----Playing in front of a packed Cuddy Arena for the first time since the 2018 regional title match, the 24th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs steamrolled visiting Limestone College Tuesday night in NCAA Division II volleyball action. Wingate won by scores of 25-15, 25-11 and 25-12 to move to 5-0 on the year, notching its fourth sweep of the season. Limestone falls to 1-3 overall.

- Wingate has won 145 of its last 151 matches in Cuddy Arena

- Wingate scored the next six, getting two kills and a block from Lambillotte to go up 15-7
- Limestone got its first kill of the night from Madysen Williams to make it 19-12
- Kills from Abernathy, Alles and Schaff put the 'Dogs on top 22-12
- Kills from Warren and Lambillotte made it 24-14; an Alles kill ended the frame
- WU hit .250 with 18 kills and nine errors in the set
- Limestone hit -.138 with just two kills against six errors

SECOND SET

- Back-to-back Warren kills, followed by a Lambillotte ace gave Wingate an 8-3 lead
- A Williams kill got the Saints within three, but the 'Dogs scored the next five points
- Back-to-back Warren blocks gave the Bulldogs a 13-6 advantage
- Two Warren aces made it 18-8; kills from Mather and Lambillotte made it 24-11
- Mather ended the set with a kill
- Wingate hit .353 with 14 kills and two errors in the frame

THIRD SET

- Two kills and a block from Maggie Young helped Wingate take an early 8-3 lead
