Rock Hill, S.C.----Wingate University sophomores
Amely Bochaton (Evian Les Bains, France) and
Brandon Skidmore (Gloucester, England) are the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Golfers of the Week for the reporting period ending October 14.
Both student-athletes picked up an individual tournament victory October 6-7. Bochaton receives this distinction for the third time this season and for the sixth time in her WU career. Skidmore earns this recognition for the first time this season and for the second time in his Bulldog career.
Amely Bochaton
Bochaton helped the Bulldogs win two tournaments in two weeks, averaging 69.8 strokes per round. She won her eighth career individual title at the St. Simons Intercollegiate October 6-7 with a seven-under-par 209. On the team charts, Wingate completed 54 holes at seven-under-par 857. The Bulldogs finished 33 strokes ahead of second-place West Florida at 890.
Most recently, Bochaton finished third in the 12th annual LeeAnn Noble Memorial with her six-under-par 208. Wingate rallied from an eight-stroke deficit to take a six-shot triumph over No. 5 Anderson in the Noble Memorial. The Bulldogs posted a new school-low, 54-hole score of 15-under-par 849.
Brandon Skidmore
Skidmore won his first career individual title in a playoff at the AU/Erskine Currahee Invitational October 6-7. Both Skidmore and Emmanuel sophomore
Lukas Lautrup-Nissen finished 54 holes at 12-under-par 204. Skidmore won the medalist playoff on the par-three 17th hole with a three. Lautrup-Nissen settled for a bogey four.
Thanks to the efforts of Skidmore and his teammates, Wingate won the AU/Erskine Currahee Invitational by 23 shots over second-place USC Aiken. In the West Florida Copperhead Championship October 13-14, Skidmore completed the 54-hole event at three-over-par 216. He tied for 16th place on the individual leader board. He averaged 70 strokes per round during the reporting cycle.

Currahee Golf Club.
MEN: Wingate concludes its fall 2025 schedule Monday and Tuesday October 20-21, venturing to South Carolina to play in Lander University's Patriot Fall Classic. The LU Bearcats are hosting this event at the
Patriot Golf Course at Grand Harbor in Ninety Six, South Carolina.
