No. 1 Wingate leads Battle at Hilton Head; Round two will resume Tuesday

Hilton Head Island, S.C.----The No. 1 Wingate University women's golf team leads the Battle at Hilton Head after 18-plus holes Monday. Lincoln Memorial is hosting this event at the Robert Trent Jones Course at Palmetto Dunes Golf Course in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
 
Wingate is No. 1 in the most recent NCAA Division II Scoreboard powered by Clippd power rankings for the 2025-26 season. Wingate advanced to the NCAA Division II quarterfinals for the first time in 2025.
 
No. 1 Bulldogs lead when play is suspended Monday
 
Wingate shot a 306 in the first round. Sophomores Amely Bochaton and Haley Paramore led the way with a 74 and a 76, respectively. Only one student-athlete shot a lower score than Bochaton's first-round 74.
 
The Bulldogs rebounded in round two. Bochaton is six-under-par with three holes to play in her second round. The No. 1 player in NCAA Division II, Bochaton is the only player under par entering Tuesday's play.
 
Senior Lauren Sutcliffe is one-under-par with two holes remaining in her second session. Wingate is nine strokes ahead of second-place Lander when play resumes Tuesday.

Six of the top 10 teams are competing in the Battle at Hilton Head. In addition to No. 1 Wingate, No. 2 Dallas Baptist, No. 3 Anderson and No. 4 Findlay are participating. No. 9 North Georgia and No. 10 UIndy are also slated to appear.
