Wingate freshman diver Lindsey Taylor (Charlotte, N.C.) finished fourth in the NCAA Division II national meet three-meter diving competition Saturday night (March 12). Taylor accumulated 470.85 points. Clarion University of Pennsylvania senior Kayla Kelosky won the three-meter diving finals with 481.70 points.

 

Taylor was second (to Kelosky) after the preliminary rounds Saturday. She had 451.50 points in the prelims, compared to Kelosky’s 472.75 points. Taylor was second after seven dives during the finals competition. Taylor was first out of 32 divers in the NCAA Division II three-meter pre-qualification meet.

 

On Thursday, Taylor finished third in the one-meter diving finals. She accumulated 456.05 points Thursday night. Keloskywon the one-meter diving finals with a national-record 511.15 points. Kelosky was the defending one-meter diving champion.

 

Wingate was 17th on women’s team charts. The Drury Panthers set the pace with 483.5 points. Wayne State (388 points), UC San Diego (338 points), Clarion (272 points) and Ashland (Ohio) University (240 points) completed the women’s top five.
