Wingate University sophomore Marko Blazevski (Skopje, Macedonia) continues his solid start to his second Bulldog season, as he won three individual races during the Fall Frenzy Invitational Nov. 18-20. Blazevski won the 200 Butterfly Sunday with a time of 1:50.98. He was second in the 500 Freestyle with a 4:31.05 time.
On Saturday, Blazevski touched first in the 400 Individual Medley with a time of 4:01.12. He was the 2011 NCAA Division II 400 IM national champion. On Friday night, Blazevski won the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 15:37.61.
On the NCAA Division II charts, Blazevski has the top NCAA Division II time in the 400 IM and the 1000 Freestyle. He has the second-fastest D-II time in the 500 Freestyle and the third-fastest time in the 200 Butterfly. In July, Blazevski competed in the 14th FINA World Swimming Championships for Macedonia. He looks to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics next spring.
