Wingate junior JaLisha Little (Charlotte, N.C.) ran the opening leg for two victorious relay teams in addition to claiming two individual silver medals as the Wingate women’s track and field team won the Lenoir-Rhyne Southeast Regional championship meet. The Wingate women won by a 144-point margin, outdistancing second-place Anderson (S.C.) 276-132.

Little was second in the 100 meters (12.60) and the 200 meters (25.49). The Ardrey Kell High School product established a new school record in the 200 meters. For the second year in a row, Wingate won the 4x400 meter relay. This year, Little and her mates set a new school record and Belk Track record with a time of 3:56.22.

Little was joined in the 4x400 by sophomores Mckenzi Mocilnikar and Lauren Calhoun and freshman Brooke Cull. The Bulldogs posted a season-best time of 49.04 to take the gold medal in the 4x100 meter relay. Little and Calhoun ran the first and the last leg; juniors Ashley Fleetwood and Jillian Malloy filled the number two and number three slots.
