Wingate University rising junior middle blocker Lexi Potter (North Liberty, Iowa) is currently in Pula, Croatia to take part in the ninth annual European Global Challenge. Potter and teammate Shelly Stumpff (Iowa City, Iowa) are members of the nine-player team that are participating in a four-day tournament featuring teams from Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Montenegro, Slovenia, Russia and Romania. 

Potter earned first team All-SAC and All-Region honors during her second season at Wingate. The 2011 SAC and Region Freshman of the Year led the league in hitting percentage for the second straight season, hitting .322 for the year. She finished second in the SAC with 1.05 blocks per set, while contributing 2.05 kills per set.

Potter and Stumpff helped lead the Bulldogs to a 32-3 record during the 2012 season. The Bulldogs won the South Atlantic Conference regular season and tournament titles for the seventh straight year. Wingate won the NCAA Southeast Regional for the second time in three years, advancing to the NCAA Elite Eight. The 'Dogs finished the season ranked 23rd in the AVCA top 25 while ranking fourth nationally in winning percentage, ranking in the top four for the sixth consecutive year.
