Wingate senior Marko Blazevski (Skopje, Macedonia) won three events as the NCAA Division II number two Bulldog men’s swimming team defeated number four Queens University of Charlotte 140-105 Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the Levine Center in Charlotte. Blazevski touched first in the 1000 Freestyle (9:33.19), the 200 Individual Medley (1:53.70) and the 500 Freestyle (4:39.85).
The two-time Capital One Academic All-America® was an All-American in four events (three individual, one relay) as Wingate finished sixth in 2013 NCAA meet. In 2013, he was an All-American in the 1000 Freestyle, 400 Individual Medley, 200 Butterfly and 800 Freestyle Relay. Blazevski was second at the 2013 NCAAs in the 400 IM after national titles in same event in 2011 and 2012. Wingate won its sixth straight Bluegrass Mountain Conference title as he won 200 Fly. Blazevski swam in the London Olympics for Macedonia.
