Malin Kersmark and the Wingate women’s team also won the team title at the 2009 Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Invitational. Kersmark established an NCAA “B” Cut in the 200 Backstroke with her victorious time of 2:07.11. She finished second in the 100 Backstroke. In the 100 Backstroke preliminaries, Kersmark posted an NCAA “B” Cut with a time of 59.30.
Kersmark and her Bulldog teammates took the checkered flag in three relay events: the 400 Freestyle Relay, the 800 Freestyle Relay and the 400 Medley Relay. Wingate finished second in the 200 Freestyle Relay and the 200 Medley Relay, as Kersmark contributed to both quartets.
The SCAD event completes Wingate’s first semester schedule. The Bulldogs will take a break for final exams Dec. 7-12 before departing for their annual Florida training trip after Christmas.
