Senior middle blocker Stormi Gale had a big weekend, earning SAC Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive season, then earning SAC Tournament MVP honors for the second time in her career. Gale averaged 3.67 kills, 3.75 digs and 1.00 aces per set to lead wingate to its fifth consecutive SAC Tournament title.
The 2009 first team All-American had 19 kills, 20 digs and six blocks in the 3-2 quarterfinal win over Newberry. She had 12 kills and 13 digs in the semifinal sweep over Carson-Newman. Gale capped the weekend with 13 kills, 12 digs and four blocks, while hitting .348 for the weekend.
